This article will cover the differences and advantages of viral and affiliate marketing. Why one would use it, and how you as a website owner may benefit from implementing comprehensive media strategies.

Viral Marketing

Viral marketing is mostly used to describe Internet-based marketing tactics and may include newsletters (mailers), web logs and other forms of online encouragement to create word of mouth for a new product or service and to create brand awareness.

In this example we concentrate on newsletters or mailers as the principle form of viral marketing.

Compared to other marketing methods, email marketing is relatively inexpensive, immediate and has a wide reaching audience. It is the primary interactive medium for marketing and communicating with clients and the most accessible form of advertising for smaller companies to generate brand awareness.

As little as two years ago, there was a very negative connotation attached to the user of mailers as most were considered to be spam.

Most mailers are now more targeted in their audience and websites endeavour to give their users the choice of signing up to their newsletters and mailers rather than bulk emailing to a group of unsolicited email addresses which have not been pre-qualified.

The key to effective viral marketing is to build relationships with your users via permission based marketing methods. This ensures that your company accesses the true potential of email marketing. You are benefiting your business in the long run by forming lasting relationships and building brand awareness in the audience it belongs.

• Compelling Offers. Advertise compelling offers where relevant to entice people to join, such as informative newsletters, eBooks, advice columns.

It's worth noting that the CD-only version of this album (Eat To The Beat) has four tracks that aren't on this one. You can buy them individually from Amazon for $0.89 each, but you may want to just get the much cheaper CD version and live without the videos.



My favorite songs from this album are reproduced on the 2000 Live album, and at least one of them ("Dreaming") sounds much better in its later incarnation. Just my opinion, of course. Incidentally, the audio on the DVD is LPCM stereo.

I'm ecstatic that I'm finally able to watch the DVD version of this album without paying exhorbitant online auction prices for the VHS version (note that the prices for those VHS versions have dropped substantially with this DVD release). One nit: I wish the audio quality of the DVD was as good as the CD. I'm sure it was just transfered from the original master video, so it's a faithful re-release, but how hard would it have been to get the CD audio quality transfered to the video version? Listening to the DVD audio even through an excellent sound system, sounds like you're listening to it through TV speakers. It isn't terrible by any means, but it pales when compared to the CD audio.



Otherwise, no complaints. Video quality is excellent, considering the age of the source material, and audio quality of the CD is superb. Easily the best money I've spent all year. A must-have for all Blondie fans.

Pitfalls of Network Marketing


Network marketing sounds great. You network, market products using the Internet and...presto, produce income.

Would that it were this simple. For most, network marketing becomes a money sink. It did for me. I am still counting my losses and wondering whether to go forward. I may, I may not. But a few lessons learned the hard way are worth sharing.

1) Every opportunity is presented as the best, the greatest, and the next sure thing.

2) The only 'sure thing' is that once you spend $39, $79 or $479 on a subscription, software tool, advertisement or distributorship position, it's not coming back. Well, it might if you try for a refund...

3) Most network marketeers do not focus their efforts. As I did, they bask in the promises of riches and become frustrated when these do not arrive. Instead of 'milking' the first opportunity longer - or just giving up the game - they dump diminishing funds in another...and another.

4) It is vital to network, vital to work with others. Yet it is even more vital to get to know people before signing on to a 'joint venture' or another project.

5) You must know your strengths and apply them. Know your weaknesses and don't apply them.

Most importantly, decide if this is what you want to be doing. Even if you are sure you can make several hundred dollars per month at the game (and not many do), it won't continue unless your heart is in it. The 'game'is largely about prospecting, hustling potential new program recruits, and spending large amounts of time organizing your marketing/sales efforts.

Too little time is spent selecting a viable and legitimate product. You should ask yourself if you feel good selling a product or program, and move on if you don't. If you find the rare, credible program then 'work it' with integrity, but do not expect riches to come your way.

For a long time I have been wanting to find some footage of the old Dodger teams playing but MLB have made it hard to see it but this DVD has a lot of what I was looking for.

After wearing out my VHS versions, MLB productions have finally put their WS films on DVD. As al ifelong Dodger fan I wish they had also included the 1955 WS. Also why haven't they made all of the other MLB team Series available. Still need the Mets, Tigers, Braves and Indians I think. But the quality is still there on the new DVDs ans having them all in one package is great for a baseball lover like me. Also think MLB productions should put out more box sets of famous series like the 88 or 91 or maybe a playoff package like the 86 playoffs or the the 2003. Anyway if you love baseball like me you should pick these up
